2024 – A New start
The last year may have been bad. The good news is that it is over. You can praise God. You can wave it goodbye.
A New Year is a great time to start afresh – You can begin again.
Dare to dream.
Aim high.
Attempt great things with God and for God.
Lift the lid.
God loves you.
He has a plan for your life.

In the Old Testament, God’s people had turned away from Him.
They got mixed up in sin. They replaced a relationship with God with idols and worldly pleasure. This led them to a dark place. They ended up completely defeated, living as captives in exile, with no way out.
Things got so bad that they were left feeling completely hopeless.

In the middle of their despair, feeling completely downtrodden, desperate, and dejected, God showed up.
He told His wayward people that even though they had messed up and ended up in a dark gloomy place with no hope, He still had a plan for them – a good plan to give them a hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
God told His hopeless people that He would mend their shattered dreams and give them a new prosperous future.
God went on and told His broken people that if they returned to Him and put Him first, He would not just come to their rescue, but that He would deliver them and bring restoration to their broken lives.
Jeremiah 29:12-14
“In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord. I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes.”
Just like God came to His people in the middle of their trouble and turned the situation around, so God can turn the tide in your life. He can bring light into your dark situation!
God has a plan for you, not to harm you but to give you HOPE and a brighter FUTURE.
He has your best interest at heart. He wants you to succeed and be all you were made to be.
God has a destiny for you to fulfill. He is for you and not against you. He can fix anything that is broken. He can make a way.
Seek him.
Turn to him.
He can bring you out of your hopeless situation and he can supernaturally accelerate you into your God-ordained destiny.

Romans 8:28
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
According to Romans 8:28, God can cause ALL things to work out for the good.
Trust God.
No matter how far you have fallen. No matter how bleak the future looks, God can turn things around for good!
At the start of a new year…
RETURN to God.
REPENT if you have messed up.
REPOSITION your life by placing Jesus at the center.
It is time for a RESET.

You can RESTART your life.
Get your PRIORITIES in the right order with Jesus at the center.
Start DREAMING again.
Have a VISION for your future, for without a vision people just run wild.

Proverbs 29:18
“Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
You need to have a plan.
Set up a map to get from where you are to where you want to be.
Proverbs 21:5
“Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.”
God’s word declares that good planning and hard work lead to prosperity. When we are diligent, working smart and hard, God brings success.
Do not try and do life alone – Invite Jesus to be at the center.
He has a good plan for your life, and He wants to walk the journey with you.

Proverbs 16:3
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”
God says that when we commit our plans and work to Him, they will succeed.
Don’t give up on your life, on your marriage, on your dreams.
Have a vision. Dare to dream and attempt great things for God.
God has a plan for you, and He can cause all things to work out for the good.
A New Year represents a time for you to start afresh.
You can begin again.
Psalm 37:3-5
“Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.”
God has a good plan for you.
Have vision.
Dream.
Set up a system.
Form good habits.
Commit them to God.
According to His Word, He WILL help you.
Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you your heart’s desires.
Ask God for help.
Jesus told us, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)
Jesus went on and said, “For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:8)
And to drive the point home, Jesus told us, “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:9-11)
You can approach God for help. He wants you to bother him with your problems. He wants to do life with you.

He is the creator, the one who made the world and everything in it. He flung the stars into space. He made the animals, the insects, the birds, and the bees – And he made you, one of a kind, with a good plan to give you a hope and a brighter tomorrow.
God has all power and authority, and he invites us to approach Him and ask for His help. He tells us to ask, to seek, and to knock and promises that when we ask, we will receive, when we seek we will find, and when we knock, the door will be opened.
Jesus tells us that if an earthly father who is not perfect, who makes mistakes, who messes up knows how to give a good gift to his children HOW MUCH MORE will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask?
God loves you. He cares. Often, we do not go to God, and we do not ask God for help.
Often, we don’t dream or set goals, and we don’t trust God.
Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own lives and agendas, stuffing our lives so full of things that somehow we only go to God as a last resort.
At the start of a New Year, know that God can turn things around.
Wave your past behind.
Take Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You can begin afresh. He has a plan for your life. He wants to do life with you. Place Jesus at the center.

He is interested in every part of our lives. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the noise of life that we forget about God.
