2023 – Start the year off right!

Wow. Time flies! Can you believe that it is the start of a New Year? May this year be a great year for you and your family, where God’s hand of favor rests on you. May you experience God’s peace and joy, and may God bless you abundantly. But above all else, my prayer is that you come into a deeper relationship with God. God wants a closer walk with you.
In Ecclesiastes 11:9, it tells us that we need to make the most of life. We are told, “Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in.”
In other words, live your life with passion and purpose. Dare to dream. Aim high.
But it also goes on and says, “But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do.”
So, live your life to the full! Enjoy it! Take it all in! But remember, there is more to just the life here and now. One day we will have to appear before God, and each of us will have to give an account to God for everything we have done.
Friend, God wants you to enjoy your life, but life consists of more than just a few short years on earth.
Even if you live to be 120 years old, life on earth is temporary and fragile. Many are so consumed with their lives here and now that they don’t consider the big picture. Often, we get so caught up in life that we give no thought of our eternity!
Friend, life on earth is short – but eternity is forever.
Life on earth is temporary – but eternity is permanent.
One day each one of us will stand before God. There will be a judgment day.
One day you will die, and your heart will stop beating, but your spirit will continue to live – either with God (in heaven where there will be no more pain and suffering) or separated from God (in hell).
Do You Realize What Jesus Has Done For Us?
He did it all. He shed His blood for you and me.
Although we were cut off from God because of sin (remember God is Holy and could not mix with sin), God made a way for you and me to find life.
John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world (that’s you), that He gave His only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him will not perish (in hell), but will have eternal life. (in heaven)”

At the start of a New Year, start your life off right. Many begin with New Year’s Resolutions and new goals and dreams for the future. This is good! But don’t forget God. Make him the center of your life.
We were in trouble…
“When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.” (Romans 5:6)
But God had a plan to save us…
“Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:7-8)
We can be friends with God…
“And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.” (Romans 5:9-11)
Start the New Year right! Make Jesus the center of your life.
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:33)
