Life Tip: Get Up and Get Going
I see so many people battling through life.
I know it can be tough when you have faced a devastating blow, but I need to encourage you to get back up. With God at your side, you can get back up. You can get going. He can cause all things to work together for the good. There is hope in God. He can create a way out.
“Once I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” (Psalm 37:25)
You may have given up on your dreams. You may have lost your way. You may have lost your job or faced a massive financial blow. I need to encourage you to get up and get going. But above all, do not try to do it alone. God wants to do life with you. You can put your trust in him.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
If you want to get your life right or achieve your dreams, you cannot just sit back and wait for something to happen. If you take this approach and wait for everything to happen, you’ll likely be left disappointed.
“If you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done.” – Thomas Jefferson.
“A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.” (Proverbs 24:33-34)
Don’t procrastinate.
Don’t just talk about it.
“Talk is cheap, like daydreams and other useless activities. Fear God instead.” (Ecclesiastes 5:7)
You need to act.
Make that decision.
Get started.
Follow through.
Today, you need to get up and get going!
“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” (Proverbs 14:23)
Be the best you that you can be.
Study. Look for opportunities. Try various ways to build your life and achieve your goals. Can you try something different?
“Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return. Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.” (Ecclesiastes 1:1-2)
You cannot just sit around. You need to get up and put your hand to the plow if you want to harvest a crop. You need to plant. You need to look after your crops. You need to get up and get going.
“Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.” (Ecclesiastes 11:4)
It is easy to come up with plenty of excuses as to why you have not started.
You will never find perfect conditions. It will always be too hot, cold, dry, or too windy.
Yes, it is important to plan.
Make good choices, but don’t procrastinate when you know you need to get up and get going.
“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.” (Ecclesiastes 11:5-6)
Plant your seed in the morning. Keep working. You don’t know which one will possibly succeed and bring in a profit. And maybe, with God’s hand of favor on you, he may cause all your plans to prosper.
“But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” (Deuteronomy 8:18)
If you want to do something amazing, you need to quit looking for reasons why you cannot do something.
Instead, you need to start looking for reasons why you can do something about your current situation. Don’t let your problems defeat you. Look for the solution to the situation. Can you turn your problem into an opportunity? Can you use your obstructions as stepping stones to move forward?
And above all, ask God to help you.
“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.” (Psalm 37:4)
You can trust God. He wants the best for you. He wants to help you.
With God at your side, you can make it.
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
If you have lost your way or are down and out, I must encourage you to get close to Jesus. I need to encourage you to rise up. God can take your setback and turn it into a great comeback. But it starts with surrendering your life to Jesus. You can then get up and get going!
