Money Management Principle: Be a Generous Giver!
We live in a world that has become self-obsessed and selfish. The Bible even warns us that this will signify the end times.
“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God — having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” (2 Timothy 3:2-5)
I want to encourage you to avoid greed and be a generous giver.
Generosity is a fundamental practice in biblical stewardship. Instead of being stingy or hoarding, I encourage you to bless others.

Give to God
Something powerful happens when you make the decision to give God your best. Putting God first should form the backbone of your approach to managing your money.
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10)
Don’t be tight-fisted. Become a giver.
While you don’t give to get, there is a tremendous blessing when you choose to be generous…
Jesus said, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:37-38)
The blessing of giving…
“Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:24-25)
Remember that there is more to life than just the here and now…
Do you know you can build eternal rewards by investing in God’s kingdom?
Jesus said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)
Above all, live to please God…
Jesus said, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)
