It is time to move forward in 2023
Hold on
Hello and welcome to part four of our New Year series. Now in part 4, the rubber hits the road. It is the time to dream, to let go of the past and to move forward. We want to see God catapult you forward into your dreams and destiny.
If you missed part three, where we helped you break camp and move forward into your God-given destiny, and unpacked areas that are potentially sabotaging your dreams and holding you back, click here to go back and read. With that all said, lets get right into it…
I know we are living in very disheartening times. The world seems to be getting progressively darker. It may feel like the stuffing has been knocked out of you by the current pandemic and uncertainty around the globe. Fear is rampant. It’s easy to worry. It’s easy to feel hopeless.
But I need to encourage you to hold on. Don’t give in, don’t let go of your God-given destiny, don’t let go of God.
You need to follow through. Don’t stop halfway like Terah did.
Hope in God. Believe God. Trust God, just like Abram did.
Know this…
Jesus did not go halfway for you. He went all the way, right to the cross for you and I. He gave his life, he shed his blood, so that we can have life and enter into the promised land that He has prepared for his children.
Back to Deuteronomy 1:7-8.
“You have stayed at this mountain long enough. It is time to break camp and move on…”
It is time to rise up
God calls you to rise-up. To start dreaming once again. To leave your past behind and to move forward into the destiny for which he made you.
What mountains are in your way that are holding you back from God’s best?
The enemy is a dream destroyer. He comes to sap your strength. He comes to kill, steal and destroy.
Don’t give up on hope.
Don’t just go through the motions.
Even if you are completely overwhelmed by these uncertain times, don’t let go of your hopes and dreams.
Don’t let go of your destiny.
It is time to move forward
Just briefly, I want you to look at the big picture.
God wants you to enjoy your life. He wants you to live with purpose and passion. But life consists of more than just the here and now.
So often we get so consumed with our lives right now that we don’t consider our eternity.
On the other end we often get so caught up in life, haunted by our past, or so worried about tomorrow, that we forget to live now. It is time to move forward, away from our past.
Psalm 118:24
“This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 NLT
“Young people, it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do. So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy.”
Don’t forget about eternity
Live your live to the full, but remember that one day you will need to give an account to God.
Therefore, don’t forget about the big eternal picture. Friend, life on earth is short, but eternity is forever. Life on earth is temporary, but eternity is permanent.
One day each one of us will stand before God. There will be a judgment. In eternity there is a heaven and a hell. Even if you live to be 120 your life on earth is short and temporary. But God made you to live forever in his promised land.
One day you will die. One day your heart will stop beating, but your spirit will continue to live, either with God in heaven, (where there will be no more pain or suffering), or you’ll be separated from God in hell (where there will be continual torment and pain).
The Bible makes it clear that no one is good enough.
Romans 3:10
“No one is righteous— not even one.”
We have all missed the mark…
Romans 3:23
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
But there is good news…
Romans 3:24
“Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood.”
Jesus paid it all
Jesus paid it all. He shed his blood so that we can go free.
As we enter 2023, I want to ask you to break camp. Let go of what is holding you back. And make certain that you get your relationship right with God.
Even though we were separated from God because of sin, God made a way by sending His one and only son Jesus Christ. He came to make a way. He paid the full penalty for us and because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross. we can be forgiven, we can be rescued, we can be reunited with God, we can become children of God.
God wants you to live with passion and purpose.
He wants you to be free.
God wants to breakthrough in your life. He wants to birth a new start in you.
It is time to dream
It is time to dream.
Strip off the weight.
Run with endurance.
Keep your eyes on Jesus.
Hebrews 12:1-3 NLT
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up.”
And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.
Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.”
Give God your burdens.
Stay alert.
Stand firm.
God will bring you through.
1 Peter 5:7-11 NLT
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. “Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are. In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.”
It is time to rise up.
Don’t stop halfway.
It is time to break camp and move forward.
Look to Jesus.
