The Grace of God
Grace is God’s undeserved kindness towards you and me.
Ever since Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, we have all been born into sin.
“As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one.” (Romans 3:10)
We All Fall Short of God’s Standard
We have all turned away from God. No one is seeking God. We all have gone our own way. We have turned our backs on God.
And because of sin, we fell short of God’s holy standard, and we were left guilty and without any excuses.
Sin put us in bondage.
“For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.” (Romans 3:20 NLT)
The more we know the law, the clearer it becomes that we are guilty and without excuse before a holy God.
We couldn’t measure up to God’s holy standard.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” (Romans 3:23 NLT)
And This is Where GRACE Steps in…
God, in His love, sent Jesus to redeem us, and when we put our faith in Jesus, we can know God’s grace.
“We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.” (Romans 3:22 NLT)
This is the undeserved love, mercy, and grace of God, and it is available to everyone, you included! No matter who you are, what you have done, or where you come from, God’s grace is available to you.
“Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (Romans 3:24 NLT)
We all owed a debt that we couldn’t repay. It’s called sin. It put us in bondage. It left us in a dangerous situation, cut off from a holy God.
We were left in trouble, completely hopeless, yet God had a plan.
Jesus came to save, deliver, and set all people free. He came to seek the lost. He came to deliver the bound. He came to set captives free. He came to rescue those who were in danger.
Grace is a free gift from God, purchased by the blood of Jesus on the cross.
Grace cannot be earned.
Grace is God’s undeserved kindness towards us.
Grace is all about the unconditional love of God.
While sin leads to death, condemnation, and bondage, on the cross, Jesus paid the full price so that you can have God’s abundant life, peace, complete forgiveness, and right standing with God.
Sin Brought Death
“When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.” (Romans 5:12 NLT)
But Jesus Brings Grace
“But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:15 NLT)
Jesus ushered in a New Covenant of God’s grace and His forgiveness.
Do you know what GRACE is?
It is God’s undeserved favor. It cannot be earned or paid for. It is free.
Grace is without cost to you and me. Why? Because it cost Jesus everything. He gave His very life on the cross so we can be set free. Jesus gave His all.
Through Jesus, we also receive God’s gift of forgiveness.
We owed a huge debt. We were guilty. We couldn’t pay the price. We were left spiritually bankrupt. It cost us too much. But Jesus gave His all. Jesus paid the full price, thereby releasing us from the debt. He removed the wrong. He settled the debt. It was paid in full. We were unworthy, but we were made worthy.
Once and for all time, Jesus gave His life so that we could receive the free gift of God’s love and kindness.
Sin Brought Condemnation
“For Adam’s sin led to condemnation.” (Romans 5:16 NLT)
But Jesus Declares Us Not Guilty
Although sin led to condemnation, God set us free and declared a not-guilty verdict for all who put their faith in the finished work of Jesus.
“But God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins.” (Romans 5:16 NLT)
Even though we deserve death and condemnation because of sin, Jesus made a way for all people to be set free, find new life, and be made right with God.
Disobedience Made You a Sinner
“Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners.” (Romans 5:19 NLT)
Jesus Makes Us Right With God
“But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.” (Romans 5:19 NLT)
The Free Gift of God’s Grace
Grace is a free gift from God.
You cannot earn it.
You do not deserve it.
It is not based on your performance.
It is based on Jesus’s performance.
Your best is not enough.
The good news is that your worst doesn’t have to disqualify you.
Why? Because Jesus paid the full price for sin on the cross.
I hope this has given you a fresh revelation of the grace of God that Jesus made available to all who call on Him to be their Lord and Savior.
