Who Are You Looking To?
This Christmas don’t look to the stars for guidance. Look to the creator of the stars.
May this Christmas season be filled with joy, life, and a peace that surpasses all understanding. May you and your family know and experience God’s abundant blessing and favor.
I know the past year has not been easy. We have had many challenges. But Jesus Christ is still on the throne. He is the Savior. He is our hope in the middle of the storms that life throws at us.
The Savior
Do you know why Mary called her son Jesus?
We are told, “And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21)
The name Jesus means Savior. Jesus is the Savior. He came to “seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)
He came to rescue those who have lost their way and who have lost hope.
This Christmas, look to Jesus. You can call on Jesus to save you.
This Christmas, if you have lost hope or are overwhelmed with worry, here are ALL our messages for you.
God’s Word is clear. It says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
Everyone can call on Jesus and they will be saved.
This is not only reserved for those who are holy and pure. This invitation is to everyone, including the lost, the broken, the destitute, the beggar, and the person who has seriously messed up.
No matter who you are or what you have done, you can call on Jesus, and he will rescue you. Even if you are stuck in the mud or are in a bad place, he can lift you up. He is your personal Savior. He can rescue you.

Look to Jesus
Many look in all the wrong places for answers when they are in trouble.
Some go to loan-sharks, others go to drug dens. Some look to gurus or fortune tellers. Some look to the stars.
I want to encourage you to look to Jesus.
Who Are You Looking To?
One Christmas a few years back, God gave me a fresh revelation around the Christmas message that I have never thought of before. It is about the wise men (or the Magi).
These wise men came from the East. They were wealthy and were people of influence, but also looked to the stars for guidance – something God forbid his people to do.
God’s word is clear, “And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.” (Deuteronomy 18:10-12)
God didn’t and still doesn’t want you and me to look to the stars or other things for direction. He wants us to look to the creator of the stars. To Jesus.
What a Savior! Isn’t it incredible to know that you and I can have a close walk with God because of what Jesus did? He is our Savior.

But back to the wise men…
These wise men were not godly men. They were not God’s people – they looked to the stars for direction. They practiced sorcery and divination (divining the heavens) for direction and to see what the future held.
Now, while looking to the stars for direction, a star revealed to them that a new King would be born who would be The Savior of the world. It was such a huge discovery that they set off to find this new King.
The Magi followed the star to find the Savior.
The Bible tells us that, “Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” (Matthew 2:1-2)
The King at the time was Herod. He has an evil King.
“King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?” “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they said, “for this is what the prophet wrote: ‘And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.’” (Matthew 2:3-6)
The wise men’s astrology aligned with the Jewish prophesy of where the newborn King would be.
Herod felt threatened. He immediately tried to set up a covert operation to gain information about the coming Savior of the world.
“Then Herod called for a private meeting with the wise men, and he learned from them the time when the star first appeared. Then he told them, “Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child. And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!” (Matthew 2:7-8)
While Herod said that his plan was to go worship the Savior, he had an ulterior evil motive – to actually kill this newborn King.
“After this interview, the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was.” (Matthew 2:9)
This group of wise men followed the star, and when it stopped over Bethlehem, they knew they were about to meet The Savior.
“When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” (Matthew 2:10-11)
When the wise men found Jesus, they worshipped him and showered him with gifts.
“When it was time to leave, they returned to their own country by another route, for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod.” (Matthew 2:12)
Even at Jesus’s birth, the magi or “wise men” were drawn to the Savior of the world, to the light of the world, and to the one who offers abundant life.
Jesus is the Savior. He is the Light of the World.
The wise men followed stars. I want to encourage you this Christmas not to look to the stars for guidance. Look to the Jesus. He is the creator of the stars.
When You Seek God, You Will Find Him.
I want to encourage you to look to Jesus.
The Bible tells us that when we “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)
Jesus confirmed this when he said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”(Matthew 7:7)
Don’t Look to the Stars, Look to the Creator of the Stars
I was contacted by a lady who needed investment advice.
At our first meeting, I learned that she was a well-known astrologist.
She asked me for my star sign. I shared with her that I don’t believe in following the stars. I told her that according to Bible, God doesn’t want me to look to the stars, but directly to him. I was able to share with this dear lady that I follow the creator of the stars and that I have a relationship with Him.

Over the years, we have become friends. When she was sick with cancer, I was able to pray for her and God healed her! Today she attends church and just this week she wished me a Blessed Christmas.
This Christmas don’t look to the stars or any other avenue for answers to life.
Look to the creator. Look to Jesus. And don’t forget about the “wise men”. They there going through life searching for meaning, and they found the Savior.
Make sure you continue to look to Christ this Christmas.
Jesus is Supreme. Look to Him.
Take a look at this incredible scripture. I pray that it will give you a fresh revelation of who Jesus is.
(Colossians 1:15-23)
“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.
Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.
For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ,
and through him, God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.
This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions.
Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.
But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.”
Jesus is the Savior. He wants a relationship with you.
Jesus told us, “I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me.” (John 10:14).
Jesus also said, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)
This Christmas make the decision to surrender your life to Jesus. Draw near to Him. Seek him and you will find him. Look to Jesus. He is your Savior.

May you have a blessed Christmas filled with much peace, joy, good health, and every blessing from our Great God.
