Money Management Principle – Follow Through
When it comes to money and most areas of life, we often excel at starting things but struggle to follow through. I urge you to start, commit, and follow through with your plans.
I encourage you to stick to your plans, persist, and follow through.
When it comes to your money management, you need to make saving and investing a life-long habit.
Be disciplined.
Be diligent.
Talk is cheap.
You need to implement your plan.
Set up a strategy.
Make it easy to follow through on your goals.
“Hard work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty.” (Proverbs 10:23)
If you want something you have never had, you may do something you have never done.
Build Good Habits
Why don’t you be intentional and decide to save and invest part of your income each month?
How much can you afford to save?
Once you have determined the affordable amount you want to save, you must commit to your plan and follow through.
Once you have committed to saving, you won’t miss the amount you put aside each month. And you will be surprised how quickly your savings grow!
You may think you don’t have ‘spare’ cash to save, but you can cut back on unnecessary expenses and free up surplus cash within your budget to invest. It might be difficult initially, but it is doable if you make it easy to follow through on your plan.
Build savings and investments in your budget.
Can you possibly automate your system by setting up a regular debit order?
Look at the impact of saving R1,000 every month…
“The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets.” (Proverbs 21:20)
Don’t start saving and stop halfway. Follow through. It is important to finish what you start.
By the Way…
The same principle applies to your walk with God…
Develop a habit of spending time with God.
Can you possibly make the decision to put Jesus at the center?
He wants to do life with you. He paid the total price for your sin on the cross so that we can come into a close walk with God that can start today and go right on into eternity.
You do not need to face life alone. You can know God and know his leadership, direction, and wisdom.
Get to know God. Seek him. Spend time with Him.
“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)
Be Intentional. Follow Through. Make it Easy.
Why don’t you make it easy to follow through and grow into a closer walk with God?
Set aside time to spend with God, praying, reading your Bible, and waiting for God’s direction.
Get to know Him.
Make it easy by scheduling time in your diary.
Maybe you need to get up 20 minutes earlier.
Maybe you need to read a verse when you have your morning cup of coffee.
Maybe you can join a cell group or a church.
Get committed to following through and growing in your walk with God.
