Life Tip: A Fruitful Future
God wants you to be fruitful. He wants to see good fruit in your life.
Are you living a fruitful life?
I meet some people who are producing incredible fruit in their lives. Sadly, I also meet many people whose fruit looks sick and still others who are barren and fruitless.
What Does the Fruit Look Like in Your Life?
Today, I want to show you what Jesus said about being fruitful. I will show you that God wants to see you thrive and produce good, healthy, and life-giving fruit in your life.
In John 15, Jesus told us…
“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.” (John 15:1-4)
Jesus told us that…
- He is the vine
- We are the branches
- He wants us to be fruitful
- The Father is the gardener who cares for the tree
- If we are disconnected from Him, we won’t produce any fruit and will be cut off
- But if we are connected to Him, the Father will look after and care for us to be fruitful and live fruitful lives.
Are you connected to Jesus?
According to Jesus, you cannot be fruitful apart from Him.
Jesus continued…
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.” (John 15:5-6)
If you are connected to Jesus, you are like a branch of a tree that is connected to the vine or trunk of the tree.
When you are connected, you are part of God’s Kingdom, and the flow of life-giving water and nutrients will flow into you as a branch, and you will flourish and be fruitful.
God wants you to produce abundant fruit.
Don’t try to do it alone! Jesus is the source. You need to remain connected to Jesus.
In other words…
- Stay connected to the vine (Jesus)
- Allow the Holy Spirit to flow through you and equip and empower you
- The gardener (Father) will also care for you
- The result will be an abundantly fruitful life
What Fruit Are You Producing in Your Life?
Jesus told us, “A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit” (Matthew 7:17-18)
What is your fruit like? Good? Bad?
Jesus continued, “So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.” (Matthew 7:19-20)
God wants you to produce good fruit. Abundant fruit.
Have You Been Fruitless?
Jesus shared a parable about a barren fig tree and not providing any fruit…
“A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. Finally, he said to his gardener, ‘I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’ “The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. If we get figs next year, that’s fine. If not, then you can cut it down.” (Luke 13:6-9)
Your life may have been fruitless.
I have good news for you. God wants you to be fruitful – in every area of your life!
God is the God of the second chance.
Get reconnected to Jesus.
Jesus showed great love for you and me when he “lay down” His “life” for you and me on the cross so that you can be reconnected to God. (John 15:13)
You Can Get Reconnected to God.
Jesus told us, “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.” (John 15:5-8)
Get connected to Jesus.
He is your source of hope and strength.
He is your provider, your protector, and your supply.
Let the Holy Spirit flow through you.
Allow The Father to take special care of you.
Jesus continued, “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” (John 15:16)
Surrender to Jesus.
Give Him your dreams and your disappointments.
Give Him your dreams and desires.
Give Him your life.
Remain in Him.
When you live a life connected to Jesus, you will produce abundant fruit, please God, and bring great glory to Him.
Ask God for help! He wants to help you produce lasting fruit in every area of your life.
