Life Tip: HOPE
You may be experiencing a chaotic time. Maybe your marriage is under attack. Your finances may be in a mess. Your life may be falling apart. You may be stressed out.
Are you hurting?
Is your life devoid of peace?
Do you feel hopeless?
Are you at the end of what you can face?
Have you had enough?
Does it seem like there is no way out?
I need you to know that no matter what you’re facing, there is HOPE!
Don’t give up!
Don’t give in!
Don’t quit!
Put Your Hope in God
God is the God of the possible. He can make a way even when there seems to be no way out of your mess.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Look beyond the storm.
Look up to the one who calms storms.
Look beyond your sickness.
Look to the healer.
Look beyond your troubles.
Look to the way maker.
Look beyond your hopelessness.
Look to the hope-giver.
He has the name above all names. His name means Savior. He is the Good Shepherd. He is our deliverer. He has all power and authority. Nothing is impossible for Him.
His name is JESUS.
Even though the enemy comes to “steal and kill and destroy,” JESUS was anointed to bring “GOOD NEWS to the poor.” He came to “proclaim FREEDOM for the prisoners” and “RECOVERY of sight for the blind.” He came “to SET THE CAPTIVES FREE,” and to proclaim a “time of THE LORD’s FAVOR.” (Luke 4:18-19)
Jesus also came so that you can have “LIFE AND LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY.” (John 10:10)

You may be caught in the middle of a scary storm, and your future may look gloomy and uncertain. At times like this, you either give up, try fighting the battle in your own strength, or give the reigns over to God.
In the book of Isaiah, God’s people were caught in the middle of a crazy storm. The future was dark, gloomy, and uncertain. In the middle of their mess, God told His people, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” (Isaiah 43:1-3 NLT)
God can ransom your life and rescue you. He is with you in the fire and in the flood. He can save you. He wants to be your Savior. You can put your hope in him.
Maybe you have been pushed beyond breaking point. You may be weary and weak. I need to encourage you to put your hope in Jesus.
David was in a tough place, overwhelmed by his troubles. He didn’t give up, give in, or quit. Instead of surrendering to his fears, he looked to God to deliver him. He put his hope in God.
David wrote, “I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation, I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles. For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the Lord, you, his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.” (Psalm 34:4-10)
You may feel empty and dried out on the inside. God can give your weary soul. Jesus offers refreshing springs of living water to all who are thirsty and barren.
Jesus said, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” (John 7:37-38)

No situation is too far gone that God cannot fix.
It’s not over until God says it is over.
So, put your hope in him.
If you carry too much burden to bear, you can also come to Jesus.
Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
God is still on the throne. He cares about you.
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (Genesis 18:14)
God is still in control.
Jesus has “all power and authority in heaven and earth.” (Ephesians 1:21)
When Jesus walked the earth…
- He healed the sick
- He brought breakthroughs to the oppressed
- He set captives free
- He opened blind eyes
- He provided for people in need
- He even raised the dead
- He calmed storms
- He offered forgiveness to sinners
- He gave new life to the outcast
And he has NOT CHANGED. He is still the same Jesus.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
Maybe you have messed up. Maybe you have wandered away from God and done some things that have left you feeling condemned, haunted by your sins, and disconnected from God.
Today, you can come back and restart a new walk with God. Confess your sins. Give him your heart.
In Bible times, there was a woman who had been caught in adultery. She had just committed a sexual sin that carried the death penalty in her day. She was brought before her judges, and Jesus was also there.
The crowd wanted to stone and condemn her to death.
Do you know what Jesus did?
Jesus forgave her. He set her free. He released her from her sin and told her to “Go and sin no more.” (John 8:11)
We were all cut off from God due to sin, but Jesus paid the full price on the cross for our sins so that you and I can be forgiven and receive abundant life.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (Romans 3:23-24)
Do you realize how much God loves you?
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8)
Jesus came to seek and save the lost. He did not come to condemn you but to rescue you.
God’s word makes it so clear: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
You may be in trouble. Put your hope in Jesus.
You may be experiencing a violent storm in your life. Jesus can calm it. Get close to Him. Don’t run from God—run to Him. Jesus brings hope. He can cause all things to work out for the good.
