Are You Spiritually Dry? Jesus Offers You Living Water!
Today you may be going through a spiritually dry period in your life.
I really believe that God wants to lead you to pools of refreshing water. He wants to restore your strength.
He offers you living water.
The Bible tells of an event where Jesus was in town. He noticed that so many people were dried out spiritually.
John 7:37-39 says, “Now on the last and most important day of the feast, Jesus stood and called out [in a loud voice], “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.’” But He was speaking of the [Holy] Spirit, whom those who believed in Him [as Savior] were to receive afterward. The Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).”
When Jesus saw how dry and empty the people were, He called out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!”
Jesus went in and said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.’”
Are you dry?
Is your heart empty?
Are you thirsty?
Jesus offers living water. He wants to fill you.
He wants rivers of living water to perpetually fill you. Jesus wants to come live in you by His Holy Spirit.
Maybe You’re Dried Out…
Even if you are facing a drought in your life, God can make a way.
He can refresh your soul. He offers rivers of living water.
Do You Need Refreshing?
“So repent [change your inner self–your old way of thinking, regret past sins] and return [to God–seek His purpose for your life], so that your sins may be wiped away [blotted out, completely erased], so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day]; and that He may send [to you] Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you.” (Acts 3:19-20)
God wants to bring times of refreshing back into your life. If you want God to fill you and refresh you, then…
- Turn back to God
- Look to the cross
- Turn from your sin
- Invite Jesus into your heart to be your Lord and Savior
God offers you living water. This living water can quench your thirst.
God can do the miraculous. He can do the impossible.

Water From the Rock
While Israel was still in the wilderness after God had miraculously delivered them from their slavery, they ran into a situation where they were thirsty, and there was no water.
Exodus 17:1 tells us, “The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink.”
Once again, they “quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink!”
Moses had had enough. He told them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?”
If you are going through a dry time in your life, pray to God.
Moses then prayed to God.
God did a miracle and caused life-giving water to gush out of the rock so that His people could drink.
He can turn your dry, rocky heart into a refreshing spring of life-giving water.
God can bring revival to your dehydrated heart and replenish you.
My friend, nothing is too difficult for God.
God Can Make Rivers Flow in Your Desert
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19 NIV)
God can bring water to your desert.
God can make rivers flow in your dry place.
He can bring water gushing out of the dry ground.
He can make your bitter waters sweet.
Nothing is too difficult for Him.
All things are possible with God.
