The Power Of God To Heal Is Available To You 

Jesus… “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” (Matthew 10:8) 

God hates seeing people in bondage.

When he sees people in bondage it breaks his heart. God has all power and authority and can heal, deliver, and set free. 

“I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26)

When Jesus Walked The Earth, He Walked In Power, Bringing Healing And Deliverance To Captives.

Wherever Jesus went, he always brought breakthrough.

Broken people were drawn to Him, and whenever they encountered Jesus, their lives were radically transformed for the better.

“When the people recognized Jesus, the news of his arrival spread quickly throughout the whole area, and soon people were bringing all their sick to be healed. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.” (Matthew 14:35-36)

One touch of the glory of God and people were healed.

Just reaching out and touching even the fringe of his robe brought instant healing.

The sick were healed, blind eyes were opened, dead ears could hear, cancer dissolved, disease cured, and crippled people experienced creative miracles that saw immediate healing.

Just with one touch, darkness had to flee, bondage had to be loosened, and captives were set free. 

“Jesus travelled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed—he healed them all.” (Matthew 4:23-24)

Just see this…

“Jesus returned to the Sea of Galilee and climbed a hill and sat down. A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn’t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all. The crowd was amazed! Those who hadn’t been able to speak were talking, the crippled were made well, the lame were walking, and the blind could see again! And they praised God.” (Matthew 15:29-31)

Jesus set captives free.

He brought restoration, healing, and deliverance. And he has not changed. He is still the “same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

The Early Church Walked In Power And Did Mighty Miracles

When Jesus walked the earth, he did mighty miracles.

But the main reason for Jesus coming from heaven to earth was to die on the cross and pay the full price for sin, so that sinful people could be made right with God.

Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for sin, settling the bondage of sin once and for all, for all who take Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

He was then buried in a tomb, but on the third day, He conquered death and rose again.

He then walked the earth for another 40 days. He then ascended into heaven, telling us that one day He would return to fetch His people and judge the world. 

Jesus told us, in His final words to His people before He ascended into heaven to: “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.” (Mark 16:15-18)

Jesus told His followers to go share the Good News. He also told us that we could pray for the sick and bound and that He would demonstrate His healing power through us in others as we prayed for them. 

We are told, “When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.” (Mark 16:19-20)

The early church literally “turned the world upside down.” (Acts 17:6).

They were out under the power of God, at Jesus’ instruction, and shared the Good News.

They continued the work of Jesus, and people were healed, delivered, and set free. 

In the early church miracles were the norm. 

“A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.” (Acts  2:43)

When the followers of Jesus met people who were sick or bound, they responded and saw God pour out His healing power. 

Let me show you a few examples…

The Crippled Beggar (Acts 3:1-11)

One day, “Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded! They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon’s Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John.” (Acts 3:1-11)

This man was crippled from birth.

He had never walked.

When he asked for money, Peter and John, empowered by the Holy Spirit, gave him so much more – They gave this crippled man Jesus.

He was radically set free. When this man was healed, he was walking, leaping, and praising God – not only was he healed of his deformity, but he could walk and run! Nothing is impossible with God.

And whenever the opportunity arose, they shared the Good News of Jesus.

Through this one miracle, thousands heard the Good News of Jesus and surrendered their lives to God. 

There is more to life that the here and now. What matters is eternity.

And the early church used every opportunity to share the Good News so that the lost could find new life in Jesus.

Through the early believers, God did mighty miracles.

At times, sick people lined up on the streets to be healed.

Remarkable miracles happened. 

“As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil spirits, and they were all healed.” (Acts 5:15-16)

You read that right! Yes, even when Peter’s shadow fell on those with any type of infirmity, they were healed. 

God did unusual miracles through his early church in Acts.

“God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.” (Acts 19:11-12)

Greater Works

Jesus told us, “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” (John 14:12-14)

The early church sure continued to do the same works, and even greater works than Jesus did. 

God has called you to do the same works, and even greater works that Jesus did. 

At the end of Matthew 9, as we saw in part 1, we are given a glimpse of Jesus’ love and compassion for hurting broken people.

We are told, “Jesus travelled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 9:35-36)

When Jesus saw people who were harassed and helpless, he was moved to action. 

When Jesus saw how many people were broken and hopeless, he said, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” (Matthew 9:37-38)

I love this scripture that shows how crowds of sick and hurting people were drawn to Jesus. 

And whenever the sick came to Jesus, their lives were forever changed for the good. 

Jesus is our healer.

Today if you are sick, harassed, or bound, call out to Jesus.

Jesus healed in Bible times, and He has not changed.

He is our healer.

Jesus Is Looking For Workers To Demonstrate His Power

This is where you come in. 

Jesus is looking for workers who will go out and be His ambassadors.  

I want to encourage you to be available for God.

If God brings a sick person across your path, please pray for them.

Ask God to intervene.

You Will Receive Power When You Step Out For God

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Are you a child of God? Have you taken Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

Do you know someone who has lost their way? Without a Savior, mankind is lost.

Eternity is at risk, but Jesus paid the full price on the cross for all people to find forgiveness, eternal life, and to come into a relationship with God. 

You and I, as God’s children, are called to share the Good News with the lost, broken, and bound. 

Be Available (7 Amazing Miracles!)

I want to encourage you to pray for people.

So many have let go of God.

So may live as though God is dead.

I believe that God wants to demonstrate his power and do mighty miracles that will not only see captives set free, but reveal the reality that Jesus is alive!

The Lady In A Wheelchair

Many years ago, I was at a meeting on the other end of town. When I was leaving, I saw a lady in a wheelchair. She was surrounded by friends. I felt God say, “Clinton, go pray for her.” 

I felt awkward, but I obeyed God. I walked to this lady and asked, “Ma’am do you mind if I pray for you.”

She said, “Yes.”

I placed my hands on her legs and prayed a very simple prayer, “Father, I ask you to bring healing. In Jesus’ name. Amen”. Without looking up, I got up, feeling a little embarrassed, and left in a hurry without knowing what had happened. 

That day I had a bright yellow shirt on. I went to my other meetings and forgot about the event. That evening after work, I popped into the supermarket to get some food. While in the goods aisle, a lady approached me. She asked if I have been on the other side of town that morning. She had seen me and recognized me by my yellow shirt.

She went on to tell me that I have prayed for her friend that morning. She proceeded to tell me how her friend had a knee problem and that her other leg was messed up. Doctors had done a few operations and had told her that there wasn’t any hope of her walking again.

This lady went on to tell me how after I had prayed, her friend’s knee cracked and came right, and that God had also touched her other leg. This dear lady stood up and walked for the first time in years. God had done an incredible miracle and healed her legs. She proceeded to praise God in the middle of the supermarket. 

Cancer Healed Over The Airwaves

One evening while sharing on the weekly night radio program, I felt led to pray for the sick.

This was against the radio station’s protocol and the next day I was called and asked to meet with the manager later in the week. However, the station received a call later that day…

A lady who was listening had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She was due to go in for her pre-operation surgery meeting to have a mastectomy the following day. As I prayed over air, this lady shared how God touched her. She felt like the lumps had gone.

The next day she kept her meeting with the surgeon, but shared what had happened…

The doctor examined her and told her that the lumps were gone! They redid the tests. The results showed that there was no trace of cancer. She left the hospital with a clear health report.

Needless to say, my meeting with the station manager went well! 

Healed Of Depression And Back Pain

A while back I was asked to speak at a meeting. As I started, a lady stood and interrupted me…

She shared that she had been bedridden with severe back problems and suffered from depression. She had tuned into a midweek radio program I had presented and, in this meeting, she shared that during the program she had a profound encounter with God.

While lying in her bed, God healed her back and delivered her from the depression! She went to testify that God had healed her over the airways!

A Meeting With A Client

I had a meeting with a Muslim client of mine. She had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I asked if I could pray for her.

A few days later I received a WhatsApp, “Clinton thank you for praying for me. My doctors did another test. The cancer is “gone.” 

Set Free From The Darkness

I was preaching at an event, where a young girl came forward for prayer.

She looked bound. Her eyes were black, she looked oppressed, and had a dark countenance. 

I started to pray for her, and she fell under the power of God as He touched her. She had a radical encounter with Jesus.

When she rose to her feet, her complexion was lighter. She had a new brightness. Her eyes were shining.

At the time I didn’t know her story, but later after hearing her testimony I could see the grace of God. She had been sexually abused and raped, not by one man, but by two of separate occasions.

This haunted her and messed her up, but one touch of the glory of God and she was forever changed. 

God healed her. He set her free. She experienced the transforming power of God and a brand-new beginning as a born-again child of God. The past was broken, and the trauma was healed – she was a new creation! Praise the Lord! 

Over The Phone

I prayed for a lady over the phone. Immediately I felt a pain in my left hip. She told me that she had severe hip pain. Moments later she was miraculously healed, and the pain left my hip too. 

Severe Stomach Cramps

Just a few months back, my second eldest son had a hockey match. After the match, he had extreme stomach cramps.

We waited for them to clear, but it got worse and worse. I eventually put him in the car and was rushing to the hospital. While driving, we started to pray for God to heal him. After a few minutes, my son shared that his pain had started to decrease. We kept praying. A few minutes later, the cramps were completely gone. God had healed him completely.

I could tell you other testimonies of God’s healing power, but God wants to build new testimonies through you.

He wants to empower you.

Be available.

God wants to empower you to reach out to those who are sick, broken, and oppressed.

Leave The Results To God

I have also prayed for many other people for who I do not know the results. 

Sometimes God heals immediately.

Sometimes gradually.

Sometimes nothing happens. 

Remember that God knows what is best. Sometimes there are blockages to healing. Sometimes there is another purpose. Pray, but leave the results to God. 

I remember praying for a man who had cancer. As I was praying, I felt like God was saying no. His time is up. I felt that God was saying, “I am calling my child home.” This man died a few weeks later. 

Remember that there is so much more to life than the here and now. 

God made you and me to live forever. Life doesn’t end at the grave. Life continues into eternity. 

There is an afterlife. 

Where will you spend it?

Jesus spoke of two destinations: heaven and hell.

One is a place of perfect peace where there will be no more suffering or pain or heartache.  The other is a place of continual torment, in the outer darkness where there will be burning fire and pain.

God doesn’t want anyone to perish in hell. He loves you so much that he sent Jesus. Jesus died on the cross paying the full price for sin and death.

I don’t know why everyone I pray for isn’t healed. Two things I know are:

• Even those who had been radically healed will one day die. They will have to face Jesus. Their relationship with Jesus will determine where they spend eternity.
• In eternity, if Jesus is your Lord and Savior, you will be healed and forever be free in God’s Kingdom.

No matter who you are, you can call on Jesus and experience His saving grace.

You cannot earn it. You don’t deserve it, but His free gift of eternal life is available to all who call on his name.

It’s not based on your performance.

If it was you would be in serious trouble.

It is based on the finished work of Jesus on the cross. 

The Bible is clear, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Are You Sick?

If you are sick, know this: Jesus still heals. 

We would count it a privilege to pray for you today…

Prayer For Your Healing

Father, in the name of Jesus I bring your people to you. I pray that this word will penetrate hearts and build faith. I thank you that you are the healer. Lord, you know exactly what healing is needed. You know what is broken. You know the solution. Thank you that no sickness is too serious or too far gone for you. In the mighty name of Jesus, we speak to sickness and disease, to every weakness, to cancer, to every pain, to every tormenting spirit that is holding you in bondage, to every addiction. And, in Jesus’ name, may every one of these be loosened and broken off your life. Be healed in Jesus’ name. Be delivered in Jesus’ name. Be set free in Jesus’ name. Thank you, Jesus, for this breakthrough and restoration, in Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

He is mighty to heal, deliver, and set free.

May you know God’s healing in every area of your life. 

Is Jesus Your Lord And Savior?

Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

Without Jesus, you cannot find peace with God.

Without Jesus, there is no hope of eternal life in heaven.

Without Jesus, there is no forgiveness of sin.

But Jesus paid the full price on the cross so that you can be reconnected to God, a relationship that can start today, and goes right on into eternity. Today you can find complete forgiveness of sin and be born again. 

If you do not know Jesus, call on Him. 

Prayer Of Salvation

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
