Financial Feature: It is Time for a Financial Reset
At the start of a new year, it is a great idea to review your goals and your financial plans.
Review:
What is working? What is not working? Where are you winning? And losing? Are there any things that are sabotaging your goals?
Reorganize:
What needs to change? Do you need to switch the order of how you are spending your money?
Rearrange:
What changes do you need to make to move forward? Take some time out to set goals, take stock, clean out the rubbish, and get your financial affairs back on track.
You can RESET your financial plan. You can set yourself up for a fruitful year ahead.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
What do you need to uproot? What do you need to plant?
What must you tear down? What do you need to build up?
Is your money management in a mess? If so, then why not use this time at the start of a new year to RESET?
Use this season as a time to clear out and get rid of some bad financial practices. Replace your bad habits with new habits that can lead to a fruitful financial future.
Statistics show that many are battling to make ends meet:
- Are you living above your means?
- Are you getting deeper and deeper into debt?
- Are you cash-strapped?
- Are you struggling to cover your bills?
- Are you financially stressed out?
- Are you feeling completely overwhelmed with money problems?
If your money issues are in a mess, then it is time to change.
You can break the old cycle. You can tear down the destructive habits of debt and poor money management that are defeating you, and you can do a RESET.
You can build some good habits that will lead to a fruitful financial future.
You may be living beyond your cash flow means, eroding your ability to build wealth through reckless spending. You may be handling your money poorly. You may have a serious money problem.
It’s time for a financial RESET.

THE RESET PLAN
- YOU NEED A VISION
“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” (Proverb 29:18)
- YOU NEED A PLAN
“Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty” (Proverbs 21:5)
- YOU NEED TO REORGANISE YOUR PRIORITIES
“Do your planning and prepare your fields before building your house.”(Proverbs 24:27)
- YOU NEED AN INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY
“The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets.” (Proverbs 21:20)
- YOU NEED TO SAY NO TO DEBT
“The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” (Proverbs 22:7)
- HONOR GOD
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10)
- COMMIT YOUR PLANS TO GOD
“Commit your work to the Lord and then your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3)
- GIVE JESUS FIRST PLACE IN YOUR LIFE
Jesus said, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)
God knows what is up! He wants a personal walk with you.
God wants to be central to your life. He wants to walk the journey with you. Consult Him. Rest in Him. Rely on Him.
No matter how bad your current situation seems, you can RESET your financial affairs. You can break the debt cycle and begin afresh. You can regain control over your financial affairs.
