Financial Freedom: Look to God as Your Supernatural Provider
Are you facing a tough time?
If so, don’t give up.
Hang on in there.
God can supernaturally provide, so put your hope in God.
Supernatural Oil
2 Kings 4:1-7 tells the story of Elisha.
A widow was in deep debt. Her husband had died and left her in financial bondage. The creditor had arrived, and because she could not repay her debt, he wanted to take her two sons as slaves.
She asked Elisha for help. She was desperate.
In 2 Kings 4:2-4 Elisha asked. “Tell me, what do you have in the house?”
God will often use what you have!
This broke widow told Elisha, “I have nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil.” And Elisha said, “Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors. Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled.”
Elisha was saying, “Gather jars. Lots of them!”
God is about to supernaturally provide!
Keep pouring! Don’t stop!
God is supernaturally making a way for you to get out of debt.
He is making a way to ensure your children can be free.
He is making a way for you to survive this crazy season.
He is making a way for you to be financially free.
According to 2 Kings 4:5-7, the widow “Did as she was told. Her sons kept bringing jars to her, and she filled one after another. Soon every container was full to the brim! “Bring me another jar,” she said to one of her sons. “There aren’t any more!” he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing.”
“When she told the man of God what had happened, he said to her, “Now sell the olive oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left over.””
God will often use what you have.
God can take the little you have and He can multiply it. God supernaturally supplied an abundance of oil that provided enough money to wipe out this family’s debt and provided enough to cover all their living expenses.
God is our supernatural provider. Put your trust in Him for supernatural provision.
If God did this in Elisha’s day, then surely, he can do it for you!
God Can Supply Your Needs
In Philippians 4:19, Paul assures us that “God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
I want to encourage you to put your hope in God.
Psalms 37:25 says, “Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.”
If you are in trouble or battling to make ends meet, call on Jesus. He is able, and nothing, absolutely nothing, is too difficult for Him. No situation is so far gone that He cannot fix. He is our supernatural provider.
