Are You Lost? Have You Drifted Away from God? Is Your Eternity at Risk?

person sitting outdoors

If you feel like you have lost your way, I have good news for you:

God loves you so dearly. He wants to have a close walk with you.

Jesus came to “seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)

You may have blown it. You can approach God. He offers mercy and grace.

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

You may have drifted from God. You may feel like you have shipwrecked your faith.

“Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.” (1 Timothy 1:19

When a ship faces a storm, it can be beaten and buffeted by the wind and swells. Sometimes it can drift far from the shoreline. Worst yet, it can run aground and be shipwrecked.

You may have drifted from God and be close to shipwrecking your life. Today God wants to bring you back safely. He wants to be the anchor of your soul.

This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.” (Hebrews 6:19)

The good news is that it is not too late.

If your heart is still beating, if you still have air in your lungs, you can call on Jesus. He will save you. He will bring you back.

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Jesus can rescue you.

Anyone and everyone can call on the name of Jesus, and according to God’s word, if you call on him, he will rescue and save you.

If you had to die today, do you know where you would spend your eternity?

Maybe your salvation is a matter of chance. Maybe you have never invited Jesus Christ into your heart. Maybe you are living in sin. Maybe you used to follow God, but have drifted away and grown cold

Come to Jesus: Today is your day of salvation. Today you can start a relationship with God. In eternity there is a heaven and a hell, but 2000 years ago Jesus died on the cross for you. He paid the full price for you.

Today you can return to God. He can wash you clean. He can set you free. You can know that you are God’s child. You can know Jesus as your Savior.

Acts 3:19-20 says, “Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshing will come from the presence of the Lord.”

Acts 2:37-41 says, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away —all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

The GOOD NEWS According to the Book of Romans

  1. We all fall short of God’s standard:
  • No one is righteous— not even one.” (Romans 3:10)
  • For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” (Romans 3:23)
  1. The consequence of sin leads to eternal death but there is a free- gift available to you:
  • “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
  1. The Good News – The unearned and undeserved kindness of God:
  • God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8)
  • Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. (Romans 3:24-25)
  1. Put your faith in Jesus:
  • “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. “(Romans 10:9-10)
  • Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
  1. Through Jesus finished work we can have a relationship with God:
  • “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.” (Romans 5:2)
  • “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:14-15)
  1. As a Child of God, you are free from guilt and shame:
  • “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1-2)
  1. As God’s child, God can cause all things to work out for the good:
  • “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28)
  1. You are safe and secure in God’s hands:
  • If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
  • “We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”(Romans 8:37)
  • “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)

If you are not a child of God or if you have drifted from God, it is time to return to Him.

Call on the name of Jesus.

Today is your day of salvation.

Let’s pray…

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you that you came to bring me life and life more abundantly. I ask you to be by my Lord and Savior. Thank you for the price you paid on the cross for me so that I can be forgiven and become a child of God. Today I repent of my sin. I ask you to forgive and cleanse me. I give you my life. Thank you that I am born again, that I have eternal life, and that today I have the privilege of being able to have a close relationship with you. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit and lead me on the best pathway for my life. I put my life in your hands and thank you that you are My God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

If you have prayed this prayer, please let us know. We would love to pray for you and send you an incredible eBook to help you on your journey with God.

I pray that you will lift up your head.

May God put a new song in your heart, a new smile on your face, and a new bounce in your step.

May you walk in freedom as a Child of God.

Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalm 103: 2-5)

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
