Are You Anxious and Empty? Learn to LET GO and LET GOD!
Are You Troubled?
Are you anxious? Worried? Overwhelmed?
According to the latest statistics, many are struggling to cope and feel stressed out. The current uncertainty seems to have poured more fuel into the fire, and so many are left feeling depressed and tired, with dread eating them up on the inside.
I heard of a survey that was conducted in the US on 100,000 students. The shocking results found that…
- 86% were overwhelmed by all they had to do
- 82% were completely exhausted
- 66% were sad
- 60% were lonely
- 59% were completely overwhelmed by anxiety
- 54% felt under tremendous stress
I’m sure that if this survey had been done anywhere in the world, the results would have been similar.
The bottom line is that more than one in every two interviewed felt completely overwhelmed, stressed out, sad, lonely, exhausted, troubled, and anxious.
According to the latest research, the top stresses people face are…
- Money
- Work issues
- Family
- Health concerns
Are you troubled by money issues? Are you dreading your work? Are your family relationships under stain? Are you facing a health concern?
I do not know where you stand today, but you can bring your troubles to Jesus.
LET GO and LET GOD!
I heard a story about a young man who was in college. He was battling to cope. He was depressed and anxious. He got to a stage where he could not take anymore. He was so worried, anxious, and overburdened.
At this crazy time, he heard a message about how he didn’t have to face his troubles alone but that he could LET GOD be part of his life and that God would provide a solution.
That evening, when he got back to his room, he took out six A4 pieces of paper. On each piece of paper, he wrote a bold letter: L, then E, then T. He followed this up with G, then O, and then D, spelling out “LET GOD”.
He then stuck these pages up on his wall.
The next morning, when he woke up, he still felt completely overwhelmed and worried about his future. He was stressed out. He looked up at the LET GOD letters on his wall and prayed, Oh God, what must I do?
He then went on with his usual tasks.
He always left his window slightly open for airflow, and that day, a huge gust of wind blew through this apartment.
The wind blew the D off his wall, leaving… LET GO.
This young man immediately felt that God was telling him to do something…
In order to LET GOD help him, he first needed to LET GO.
That day, this young man had a revelation from God: LET GO of his burdens. He surrendered his worries, concerns, and anxieties to God. He LET GO, and in so doing, he LET GOD take over.
You can let go of your troubles and hand them over to God. He wants you to bother Him with your problems. You can LET GO and LET GOD!
I want you to know that you don’t have to face your troubles alone.
God wants to do life with you.
He wants to walk the journey with you.
You can surrender your burdens and cares to Him.
Don’t Worry about Anything, Rather Pray about Everything.
Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
God’s word is clear…
- Don’t worry about anything
- Instead, pray about everything
- Tell God what you need
- Thank Him for all he has done
- Then, you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand
- And His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus
Jesus Told Us Not to Worry
In Matthew 6:25, Jesus told us, “I tell you, do not worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?”
Jesus went on in verse 26 and said, “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?”
Jesus then asked, “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”
Jesus continued, “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?”
So, Jesus carried on, “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.”
Jesus concluded His teaching on worry by, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
Jesus told us not to worry about anything.
He said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all the things you need will be added unto you.”
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus also told us, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, I will give you rest.”
Often, we hold on to stress. We feel overloaded. We get depressed and anxious. We do not have to live this way.
You can LIVE THE LET GO LIFE. You can LET GO and LET GOD take over.
Why Not Hand Over the Reigns of Your Life to God?
Psalm 55:22 tells us to “Cast your cares on the LORD”. When we cast our cares on God the Bible tells us that “He will sustain you” and God “will never let the righteous be shaken.”
It is time to let go of your troubles. Surrender them to God.
1 Peter 5:7 tells us to “Cast all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].”
Today, choose to cast your care on Jesus, for He cares for you.
You don’t have to face life’s issues alone. Put your hope in God.
Are you facing a stressful situation?
Have you lost your way?
Are you depressed, worried, and disillusioned by life?
Give your burdens to Jesus. LET GO and LET GOD.
LET GOD Fill the Empty Void
Do you feel empty on the inside?
Do you have a void in your life?
Only God can fill that vacuum in your life. Only God can give you lasting satisfaction.
Psalm 107:9 says, “For God satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”
God can satisfy your innermost yearning with good things.
So often, we fill our lives with junk.
Sometimes, in search of meaning and purpose, we try to fill our lives with things, but only God can fill our lives with lasting peace and purpose.
Billy Graham said, “We all have a hunger in our hearts for God and an empty place in ourselves that only God can fill.”
Psalms 42:1-2 says, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”
The problem we have is that instead of turning to God and letting him fill our souls, we often turn to other things.
You may have turned to pleasure, money, sex, alcohol, or drugs to fill that void. Some turn to false philosophies, others turn to false religions, all in the hope that it will lead to truth and hope and that this will fill that empty space.
For a season, some may think that they have found what they are looking for, but in the end, they are still left empty and know that something is missing.
Only God can satisfy our inner hunger, and He will, as you turn to Him and, by faith, open your heart to Jesus Christ.
Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
If you’re overwhelmed with stress, worry, and anxiety, if you feel empty on the inside, like something is missing, I want to encourage you to LET GO of your burdens and LET GOD in.
Blaise Pascal said, “There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of each man which cannot be satisfied by any created thing but only by God the Creator, made know through Jesus Christ.”
Surrender your life to Jesus. Give Him your burdens and concerns. Let go of your worries and anxieties. Let go of your sins.
Ask Jesus to fill that void.
Ask Jesus to flood your life with His peace that surpasses all understanding.
Ask Him to fill you to overflowing with His favor and goodness.

Jesus also said in John 10:27-28, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
