Life Tip – Call on God. Ask for His Help.
Are you facing a tough time?
Are you battling to make ends meet?
Are your finances in a mess?
You do not need to face your money issues alone.
There is a solution, but before we look at it, I want to tell you a story about a young man and his rich dad.
The Young Man.
I heard a story of a young man who came from the upper end of society.
His father was a very wealthy business tycoon. He was a generous and kind man. He loved his family, and he was admired by many. This young man always wanted to live independently. He chose not to join his father’s business empire but rather went off on his own way. Although his business started well, he took a few hard knocks, and he ended up with too much debt, and his cash flow was in crisis. A close friend told him to contact his father and ask for some advice and financial assistance, but being too proud, he never did. A few months passed, and with the chaos in the markets, things went from bad to worse. He eventually got to the stage when he was broke, and his business was about to enter bankruptcy. His friend pleaded with him, “Call your father! He will help you.” But the young son declined the advice. His business eventually collapsed, and he was left destitute.
You may say, what a silly young man.
Why didn’t he just put his pride in his pocket and contact his dad?
Why didn’t he call on his father for help?
After all, his dad was a generous man who would have gone out of his way to help his son.
You may think this young man was stupid, but it is no different for you and me when we battle through life and don’t ask our Father in Heaven for help.
After all, our God is merciful and kind. He wants the best for His children.
You don’t have to face life alone. Ask God to help you.
He is abounding in love.
He is happy for you to bother Him with your problems. In fact, He is interested in every detail of your life. He wants to do life with you.
God is Our Father
Look what the Bible says about our Heavenly Father…
God is the “Father to the fatherless, defender of widows.” (Psalm 68:5)
“The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.” (Psalm 103:13)
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” (James 1:5)
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Hebrews 13:5-6)
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (James 1:17)
Ask God for Help
Considering the above, the best advice I can give you regarding your money issues is to surrender your burdens to God and ask for his help.
Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
Jesus added, “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:9-11)
Give God the center place of your life.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33-34)
Put God first. God is interested in you. He wants to see you excel.
God has all the resources.
“The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the LORD Almighty.” (Haggai 2:8)
God gives you the ability to be successful.
“Remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” (Deuteronomy 8:18)
God wants to walk the journey with you he can help you.
He can lead you in the right direction and open doors of opportunity.
“The Advocate, The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things.” (John 14:26)
“The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth.” (John 16:13)
God wants to help you.
“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.” (Psalm 37:4)
So, put God first, and let God be your source.
And remember, God is our provider.
In the Bible, it shows how Jesus fed over 5000 men and their families with a little boy’s lunch, and there were baskets of leftovers. (Matthew 14:13-21)
Once, he was at a wedding, and they ran out of wine. He turned water into wine so that the wedding celebrations could continue. (John 2:1-11)
When experienced fishermen had been out fishing all night and had caught nothing, Jesus told them to launch into the deep. These fishermen’s lives were forever changed. That day, they caught such a large catch that they nearly sank their boat. (Mark 5:1-11)
God can turn the tide. He can do all things.
Nothing is impossible for Him. Put your hope in him. No situation is so far gone. No need is too small. God calms storms. He can provide for your needs. He can make a way.
You do not need to face your money issues alone, nor do you have to face life alone.
Don’t face your struggles alone. Your father wants you to bother him with your problems.
Today, you don’t have to struggle through life in your own strength.
Call on your Heavenly Father.
Ask for his assistance and intervention.
He wants to walk the journey with you.
He knows what is happening and what is best for you.
He has all the resources.
He gives wisdom and direction and can make all things work out for the good. He is our all-in-all, and he wants to live life with his children.
Do You Know Jesus as Your Saviour and as Your Provider?
He made a way for you to share eternity with Him. And He doesn’t want you to face the journey of life alone. He wants to do life with you, through the tough times and the good times.
God saw that man was separated from Him, so He even sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the price for you and me on the cross so that we could come into a relationship with Him. This relationship is not based on our performance but on what Jesus did on the cross. This relationship ensures that you and I do not need to face life alone, and this relationship continues into eternity.
If you do not know Jesus as your Saviour, why not invite Him to be your Lord and Saviour? Give Him your life, along with your burdens and concerns. He wants to be your Savior and your source.
Let’s Pray…
Father, thank you for sending Jesus to rescue me. Jesus, I ask you to be my Savior. Thank you for the price you paid on the cross for me so that I could be set free and come into a relationship with you. Today, I put my life in your hands, and thank you that you are my Savior, my protector, and my provider. I ask this in Jesus’s name. Amen.
