Our World Needs a Demonstration of God’s Power

Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. He saves, forgives, heals, delivers, and sets free. There is power in the name of Jesus. There is power in the blood of Jesus.

Just one touch of the glory of God, and your life will never be the same.

So many are lost, bruised, and battered by the storms of life. But there is one who offers rest. His name is Jesus.

Jesus said, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

If you are in a bad place, come to Jesus.

Let go of your burdens and hand them over to Him. You can be set free from that thing that is weighing you down. You can know His peace.

Jesus is the Savior. He came to rescue His children. We are told that we all like sheep have gone astray and wandered off and went our own way.” (Isaiah 53:6)

Even though we were lost, Jesus came to save us. He wants to lead and protect us, just like a good Shepherd would look after his sheep. In fact, Jesus told us, My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:27-28)

Not only does God want to watch over you, but He also wants to reach out to those who are broken and have wandered off the right path.

So many are just trying to survive the crazy world with all its complications that they are left confused, hurting, and empty. I want to implore you to introduce them to Jesus.

Today, if you know people in your circle who are lost, confused, empty, or broken, I want to encourage you to introduce them to the Savior. Just lift up Jesus, and give God the opportunity to demonstrate his love and power to them.

Lift up Jesus…

Jesus told us, And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.” (John 12:32)

When you tell others the good news of how Jesus was lifted on the cross to save them, He will touch their hearts and draw them back.

There is a God-shaped vacuum in every heart that only God can fill. He wants to seek and save the lost.

Many years ago, I had a meeting with a prospective client. I had known Biz from my previous job, and we chatted about financial planning and money issues. During the meeting, I felt led to tell him about how God had worked in my life. I didn’t know any personal details about Biz’s life. From outward appearance, he looked like a cool guy who seemed to be enjoying life. I ended up sharing Jesus with him, and after our meeting, we went our separate ways.

I didn’t see Biz again until 12 years later when I bumped into him out of the blue. I had just finished a meeting at a coffee shop, and Biz approached me. I did not recognize him, but he said, “Clinton, I never had a chance to catch up with you, but I need to tell you what happened 12 years back.”

He shared that at the time of our meeting, he had been in a very dark place. Without me knowing it at the time, he told me how when we met, he had been involved in several weird occultic practices, how he had a drug problem and that he was living a sordid and immoral life filled with sin.

Biz then told me that when I shared Jesus, he felt strange. After our meeting, he couldn’t shake Jesus from his thoughts. He went straight home, and he had an encounter with Jesus that ended up changing the direction of his life. He told me that God touched him deeply and changed his life.

That day, Biz told me, “I surrendered my life to Jesus.” Within two years, he had gone into ministry and is now a worship leader.

I never knew the deep, profound way God was working behind the scenes, but when you lift up Jesus, He draws all men to Himself. He demonstrates His power and pours out His love on the empty, broken, and bruised. Jesus saves those who are lost. He rescues the broken. He longs to bring healing and loves to bring freedom.

If you are a child of God, He calls us to be Christ’s ambassadors, and He calls you and I to share the Good News of Jesus with those who do not know Him. We are told that God wants to make His appeal through us and that we are to speak for Christ and plead with those who have wandered away to Come back to God!” (2 Corinthians 5:20)

No wonder Jesus implored us to Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)

Jesus told us that when we do, He will demonstrate His power and do miracles through us.

This is also confirmed when God tells us, You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

God Wants to Demonstrate His Power…

In the Bible, there was a deeply religious man named Paul.

He, however, was anti-Christ. He hated Christianity so much that he even had Christians tortured and killed.

However, one day, he had an encounter with God that forever changed his life. He was on his way to Damascus to persecute Christians, but God demonstrated his power. Paul’s life was utterly transformed. Immediately after his encounter with God, he started to follow Jesus. He was prepared to die for God. He ended up writing most of the New Testament of the Bible.

I pray that God gives you a “Damascus Road Experience” like Paul’s.

After Paul became a follower of Jesus, he went out and shared the Good News with others.

On one occasion, he came to the town of Corinth with the sole aim of sharing Jesus with those who were lost.

When Paul addressed the people in Corinth, he said, When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony of God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.” (1 Corinthians 2:1-5)

All Paul did was lift up Jesus.

Paul was clear…

He came humbly.

He did not come with big, wise words.

He didn’t try to manipulate anyone.

He just spoke and lifted Jesus up.

He shared his testimony of God and how Jesus gave his life on the cross so that all who believe in Him can be saved.

Paul, however, said that as he lifted up Jesus, there was “a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.”

In other words, as Paul lifted up Jesus, God poured out His Spirit, and people listening had an encounter with God. These lost, empty, and broken people living in Corinth ended up putting their faith in Jesus and in God’s power.

I want to encourage you to lift up Jesus.

I believe in miracles. I’ve seen God touch many people from all walks of life.

Jesus changes lives.

Be available for God…

Lift up Jesus! When you do, Jesus will draw people to Himself.

Share the Good News of Jesus! When you do, God will pour out His Spirit and demonstrate His power, which will cause people to encounter God.

A friend of mine does this regularly. He told me how he went for a haircut a while back. He noticed the hairdresser had a sore arm. He asked her if he could pray for her. She said yes. He lifted her up to Jesus. She was healed in the hair salon. Her life was changed as she encountered God.

Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

If not, call on Him now. He wants to be your God. He wants to save your soul, bring forgiveness, and begin a close walk with you that can start today and go right into eternity, where you will spend everlasting life with Jesus.

If you want to start or restart your walk with God, click here to pray a simple prayer we have set up for you.

Are you prepared to lift up Jesus? Are you prepared to share the Good News of Jesus with those who are far from God, living in darkness, or broken and empty?

I’ve seen gangsters turning from corruption and jumping into the arms of Jesus.

I’ve seen drug addicts delivered from the bondage of addiction.

I’ve seen prayers answered and needs met.

I’ve seen Jesus set captives free.

I’ve seen God break depression.

I’ve seen God bring breakthrough.

I’ve seen God restore broken relationships.

I’ve seen roots of bitterness broken and the abused set free.

I’ve seen finances restored, people healed, people finding a sense of purpose and a new start in life.

I’ve seen people find peace, a peace that passes all understanding, even in the middle of life’s storms.

However, the greatest miracle, by far, is when you see the lost receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, when they find forgiveness of sin, an intimate walk with God, and know that they have received the free gift of eternal life.

I’ve been doing a weekly radio program for over 25 years. During this period, I’ve seen God touch people’s lives over the airwaves.

Once, a lady on the verge of suicide experienced a touch of God as her radio supernaturally turned onto our broadcast from the station she was listening to, and God spoke directly into her life. Instead of suicide, she received eternal life, a new lease on life, and a brand-new start with a life of purpose.

A lady was healed of cancer over the airwaves.

Another lady, who was born mute, was given her voice back.

If God can do miracles over the airwaves, He can do it anywhere. He can do it for you!

A moment that really touched my heart happened a while back.

A young boy was sitting in the lounge facing his dad as they listened to the broadcast one evening. This young boy started weeping uncontrollably as he looked across the room towards his dad. His dad didn’t know what was wrong and asked his son, “Are you okay?” His son pointed towards his dad and joyfully trembled, “It’s Jesus. Jesus is standing behind you, Daddy.”

May God Pour Out His Spirit…

I pray that God will pour out His Spirit on you today. I pray that you will meet with Jesus and encounter God.

But I also pray that you will lift Jesus up and share Him with the lost, broken, and empty and with those who have wandered away. I pray that as you lift Jesus up, God will demonstrate His power and draw every lost and hurting person to himself, bringing new life and healing.

God is able and nothing is impossible for Him.

God wants to use ordinary people, like you and me, to bring revival and to turn this world around.

You and I do not need to come up with any wise or persuasive words.

We just need to be available for God and lift up Jesus.

When we lift Jesus up, He does the work.

He will empower you as you step out.

I pray that there will be a demonstration of the Holy Spirit’s power as you lift up Jesus so that many will put their faith in Him as their King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Acts 2:17-20 says,In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Lift Jesus up.

Share Jesus.

As you do, God will demonstrate His power, and He will draw the lost, bruised, and battered to Himself.

Lord bring revival, start with me!
