How to Make Good Financial Decisions God’s Way

We all need to make important financial decisions from time to time.

The decisions we make can either propel us forward or break us.

I want to encourage you to plan carefully, consider your options, weigh the pros and cons, and, above all, get advice.

Get Advice.

Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.” (Proverbs 11:14)

So, whether you’re making a financial decision about buying a new home or car, building up a wealth portfolio, changing careers, or starting a new business, I encourage you to get advice.

By getting advice, you will be able to consider various scenarios.

When you get advice, other areas or options that you never considered may present themselves.

By getting advice, you may find a simpler solution or more cost-effective strategy to your problem, or you may be spared from making a poor decision that can set you back 10 years.

Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.” (Proverbs 19:20)

Ask God for Guidance and Wisdom.

Do not make rash decisions. Think through your options. And don’t forget to pray. You don’t have to make decisions purely from a human point of view. Ask God for guidance and wisdom.

Don’t worry. Rather pray.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then, you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

Consult God about your dreams and plans. He wants the best for you.

Search his word for wisdom. Invite God to be your CEO.

But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” (Deuteronomy 8:18)

Commit your plans to God.

Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3)

Seek God, and let God guide you.

“The LORD says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.’” (Psalm 32:8)

Trust God.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Make good financial decisions. Get good, solid advice and consult God.

By making good, Godly decisions, you can avoid much pain and set your family up for a brighter tomorrow while honoring God.
