God is Super Huge!

gray and black galaxy wallpaper

I want to give you a glimpse of the majesty of God. He is the creator. He is the inventor of life. He has no limits. He has unlimited resources. He has all power and authority. God can do all things. Nothing is too hard for him. God is super huge!

O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens.” (Psalms 8:1)

Look at How Big God is!

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place— what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?” (Psalms 8:3-4)

See the work of God’s fingers! With his mere fingers, God created the moon and the stars and set them in place. And, although God is the creator and is so big, he still cares for you and me.

Isaiah gave an incredible picture of the magnitude and splendor of God…

Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers? Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?” (Isaiah 40:12)

God can hold the oceans in his hands. Incredible!

God has measured off the heavens with his fingers. Wow!

God weighed out the earth and the mountains. This is almost unbelievable, but our God is great. He is limitless. He is all-powerful. He is super huge!

Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him? Has the Lord ever needed anyone’s advice? Does he need instruction about what is good? Did someone teach him what is right or show him the path of justice?” (Isaiah 40:13-14)

God does not need our advice. He is the inventor. His ways are higher than our ways. His thoughts and understanding are beyond anything we can do. You can study for years and have multiple degrees, but your knowledge and wisdom are so small compared to God’s intelligence, wisdom, understanding and capability.

We Are So Small…

While God is so big, we are so small.

All the nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket. They are nothing more than dust on the scales. He picks up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand.” (Isaiah 40:15)

The entire world, housing over 7 billion people, is like a single drop of water in a bucket or like dust on the scales, compared to the hugeness of God. God can pick up the whole world, like it was a mere grain of sand.

“The nations of the world are worth nothing to him. In his eyes they count for less than nothing— mere emptiness and froth.” (Isaiah 40:17)

We are so small. God is so big. We are as nothing, so insignificant, like the froth of a cappuccino, yet God created each one of us unique and with purpose, with a destiny to fulfil.

No One Can Compare to God!

No one and absolutely nothing can compare to God.

To whom can you compare God?” (Isaiah 40:18)

Sometimes we live like life is all about us. We live such selfish lives, completely oblivious to the fact that there is a good God in heaven.

Haven’t you heard? Don’t you understand? Are you deaf to the words of God— the words he gave before the world began? Are you so ignorant?” (Isaiah 40:21)

When last did you give God any thought? When last did you comprehend the meaning of life?

Some put the universe down to a big bang. How can that be? Look at the beauty of creation and the magnitude of God’s plan. If the earth were further from the sun, we would freeze. If the sun were any closer, we would fry. God positioned everything in the perfect place.

He made the world out of nothing. He brought light into the darkness. He created life.

God sits above the circle of the earth. The people below seem like grasshoppers to him! He spreads out the heavens like a curtain and makes his tent from them. He judges the great people of the world and brings them all to nothing.” (Isaiah 40:22-23)

God is the creator. He is the inventor. He is the sustainer of life. He looks down and sees all. He has a bird’s eye view of the world. He sees you. He knows you.

This morning when I woke up, I opened the curtains to let light in. For God, the heavens are his curtains. God is super huge. He is also the ruler of creation.

“To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?” asks the Holy One. Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.” (Isaiah 40:25-26)

No one can compare to God. He has no equal. Just look up at the heavens to see the magnitude and magnificence of God.

God Loves You and You Are So Valuable to Him

God calls each star by name. He knows your name too. He sees you. He knows your heartache and pain. He knows what you are going through. He is all powerful. He knows everything.

“O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights? Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.” (Isaiah 40:27-28)

God sees your trouble. He understands what you are going through. He can lift you up. He can empower you. He can make a way.

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”  (Isaiah 40:29-31)

He made you. And although we are so small, God loves us and wants a relationship with us. He can empower you. God can revive your weary soul.

If you are tired and weary. If you are weak and cannot take it anymore, call on God.

Surrender your burdens to God. Even though we are so insignificant and small, God made each one of us unique.

He knows what is happening and he is interested in you. He really cares about every detail of your life.

Wait on God.

He can lift you up out of your trouble so that you can soar on wings like eagles.

God is so big and awesome, yet he loves you so much.

God made you. He knit you together in your mother’s womb. He made the complex structures including your body, your mind, your will, and your emotions. He made you unique.

No one is quite like you.

From your fingerprints to your voice, from your mannerisms to your physique, from your dreams to your quirks, from what you like to what you dislike, no one is quite like you. God made you one of a kind.

Psalm 139 gives an incredible insight into how God made you. It also tells us that God has a detailed plan for every area of your life, and it’s all recorded.

God keeps a close watch on you. He wants the best for you. He knows what is happening in your heart. He knows your thoughts, your intentions, and everything about you.

You can never escape from God. He wants to be part of your life. He wants to guide and strengthen you. He wants to support you.

God is super huge, yet you are always on his mind. He is always watching over you.

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!” (Psalms 139:17-18)

God loves his creation. He wants you to excel!

Consider this for a moment…

The closest star to earth is the sun. Scientists estimate that the sun is 109 times wider than the entire Earth which houses billions of birds, animals, and people. Apparently, there are 200 billion trillion stars in the universe.

I didn’t even know this number existed, yet God knows each star by name!

Jesus said, “What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them.” (Luke 12:6)

Yes, God even knows what is up with every single tiny bird on earth.

Concerning the birds Jesus also told us, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than them?” (Matthew 6:26)

God created the world. He even knows each one of the 200 trillion billion trillion stars by name. He made them. Even though God is super huge, he also cares for each tiny bird. And he cares for people. Jesus told us that we are so much more valuable to God than both the stars and the birds.

Jesus said, concerning you and me, “And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” (Luke 12:7)

God is super huge and has super huge love in his heart for his creation. He loves you and cares about every detail of your life.

He Wants to Know YOU!

The Super Huge God who created the world wants to live in your heart.

We were separated from God because of sin. But God loved you and me so much that he made a way for sinful man to come back into relationship with God.

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood.” (Romans 3:23-25)

Jesus paid the full price so that we can come back into a relationship with God.

This relationship ensures that we don’t have to face life alone. God wants to do life with you and this relationship continues into eternity. You can open your heart to God. You can repent of your sin and surrender your life to Jesus. Because of the finished work of Jesus, you can become a child of God.

God could have chosen to live anywhere in the universe, but he chose to take up residence in the heart of his people. In fact, he made the human heart with a void that only he can fill.

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

God wants to take up residence in your heart. He wants a close walk with you.

We are told that when we surrender our lives to Jesus that “And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.” (1 John 3:24)

Again, those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior are told “And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” (Romans 8:10-11)

According to Colossians there is a mystery that was hidden from previous generations. We are told, “And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.” (Colossians 1:27)

Jesus is the hope of glory.

So, in Conclusion…

God is super huge. No one can compare to God. We are so small and seemingly insignificant, yet God loves you and desires a close relationship. He could have chosen to live anywhere in the universe, but he wants such an intimate walk with you that he wants to live in your heart.

Open your heart to Jesus. Let the King of glory in. The God who created the heavens and the earth, wants to do life with you and me.

If you are not in a relationship with God, call on him now. The creator of the universe wants to come live in you.

If you want to start or restart your walk with Godclick here to pray a simple prayer we have set up for you.

Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:6-9)

Seek God. Turn from your sin. Call on Jesus. Today you can receive God’s undeserved love.

Today, can you find forgiveness and everlasting life. Today, invite God to come live in your heart.

We are told that “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

He has no limits. He has unlimited resources. He has all power and authority. God can do all things. Nothing is too hard for him.

He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever.” (Psalms 146:6)

I stand in awe of our God. He is strong, mighty, and majestic.

God is super huge, and yet he has chosen to come live in our hearts.

Wow!

  1. Absolutely mind blowing. I can never fathom the greatness of God, He is too marvelous for words which fails me time and time again in giving Him all the praise and honour and glory that He deserves.
